You will need FileMaker 4 (II) to examine the attached files.  If there is sufficient demand I will upload it as a text file, but that is not how I keep it.  I have included the font Zapf Dingbats 12 & 18 to allow you to print 6 pt. stars in one of the fields.  If you would like to make a contribution to this file you are more than welcome, but please DO NOT CHANGE THE FORMAT.  I am really only interested in 4 and 5 star hotels; so, read over the listings and you will get a feel for the kind of places I want to have listed.  The exception that you will find is that I have added my own personal collection of small historical country inns in the United Kingdom.  As you will see, there are not a lot of U.S. hotels in this listing so please feel free to add your 2¢ worth.

  7. To send an addition just send it as a text file from Excel or a text dump from your favorite database.  Use the following field names and it will make my work that much less taxing:

  22. If you keep to those names, I will promise to keep the file updated.

Now the neat part.  Print out the database in Portrait mode and then run the paper through the printer again with the other side up so that you get the same thing printed on both sides of the paper.  Next, cut the paper in half and punch three holes in it, you will find that it fits perfectly in the standard sized Day Runner™ brand appointment books or any other appointment diary that uses 5.5" X 8.5" paper.  Information is useless if you don’t have it with you.

This initial hotel listing is the result of millions of dollars of lavish expense account living on the part of myself and many of my friends — finally the truth emerges, the reason Mac’s cost so much is because we are out there living it up in these great joints and passing the costs along to the computer buyers of the world.  You didn’t really think we were going to just absorb those costs, did you?  Trust me, John Sculley does NOT stay at the Red Roof Inn.
